LAFAYETTE, INDIANA – In their third season at the new Loeb Stadium, the Lafayette Aviators broke their attendance record established only last year by attracting 46,142 fans to the finest facility in the Prospect League.
“It was another great summer at Loeb Stadium,” stated Aviators General Manager, David Krakower. “We are so appreciative of our fans and sponsors who make the magic happen at the ballpark and enjoy the entertainment we offer.”
Similar to record breaking attendance, the Aviators continued to expand their philanthropic mission in 2023, by generating in excess of $35,000 in funds for local non-profit organizations.
On the field, three Aviators were named Prospect League All-Stars led by outfielder Brandon Daniels, from Lee University in Cleveland, TN, finished among the top hitters in the league with a .347 batting average with 6 HRs, 44 RBIs and 16 SB in 51 games.
Two pitchers received All-Star recognition – Fort Wayne native Coley Stephens and Zach Zaborowski from Westfield. Stevens finished 8th in Prospect League earned run average with a 3.86 ERA and a 5 – 1 record in 8 games. Zaborowski led the Prospect League in saves with 13 and struck out 26 batters in 22 innings. Both Stephens and Zaborowski attend Indiana Tech.
